ANNUAL HEALING CONFERENCE
AT CARBERRY

Each year we host a conference on healing which is held at Carberry, Musselburgh

Our Next Conference will be 15- 17th September 2006

MOVING IN CHRISTIAN HEALING

The weekend intends to offer:

    • healing, rest and relaxation for those who come.
    • teaching about the healing potential in moving prayer for us all.
    • understanding how this way of healing praying can be made available to our Health Service.

There is much interest at the present time in the healing power of prayer and meditation within various traditions, often associated with exercise or movement.

During this weekend we will explore the connections between Christian prayer, movement and healing through traditions from the Celtic Christian Church, the Orthodox Christian Church and the ecumenical Christian community of Taizé.

We are familiar with movement like putting our hands together or kneeling as “what we do when we pray”. Over this weekend we would like to explore how the movements themselves are prayer. We will also reflect on traditions such as walking to church – looking for simple movements that we already use without appreciating them as a form of prayer and meditation.

This way of praying can be a doorway for us to relate and contribute to the growing understanding of spirituality in our Health service, a new avenue for Christian healing.

Everyone is most welcome. All movements will be simple and people can participate, as they are able, imagining you are doing the movements, if the actual physical movements are not possible.

See FEEDBACK FROM CARBERRY

Carberry is a stately mansion house dating back to 1480 and situated in 30 acres of parkland. The house was gifted to the Church of Scotland by the late Lady Elphinstone, sister to the Queen Mother and the grounds boast a wide variety of rare trees and shrubs. There is a beautiful chapel which we use for the final service.
