“Faith, like life, begins as a gift not a doctrine. I move, I breathe, I see, I relate, I love.” (from ‘I am Somewhere Else’)
Barbara Glasson is a Methodist minister and author of ‘I am Somewhere Else’ who established a ‘bread church’ in Liverpool – a place which became an inclusive faith community where people gathered to bake bread, share their stories of life and worship.
She is coming to the Christian Fellowship of Healing to talk about her bread ministry and some issues that have emerged from this, for example the value of small groups, creating safe spaces and the experience of survivors; all of which promotes reflections on what a church may be. To get ‘hands-on’ experience of Barbara’s church, we will make bread together which we hope to bake and share.
